Instacart lets people order groceries from local stores, and consumer brands pay to have their products shown prominently when shoppers search. Because it sees the final basket, it can show brands exactly what sales their ads produced.
Through Carrot Ads it also licenses its ad technology to grocers who want their own retail media network on their websites.
How it makes money
Delivery and service fees on orders, plus advertising paid by consumer brands; ads are a high-margin share of revenue.
Where it meets invalid traffic
