What Comscore does
Comscore measures audiences across websites, apps and TV, combining panels with census data from set-top boxes and smart TVs. Publishers use its rankings to sell ads, and some TV networks use it as an alternative currency.
In May 2026 it sold its movies box-office business, which was renamed Rentrak, to focus on media measurement.
How it makes money

Where it meets invalid traffic

Earnings, explained
Comscore Q2 revenue falls 11% after Movies business sale; net loss widens
Comscore reported Q2 2026 revenue of $79.2 million, down 11.3% from $89.4 million in Q2 2025, reflecting the impact of divesting its Movies business. The company posted a net loss of $14.8 million, compared to a $9.5 million loss a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA dropped to $1.3 million from $8.9 million. Comscore completed the sale of its Movies business for $70 million, using proceeds to fully repay $40.1 million in senior debt. For full year 2026, the company expects revenue between $315 and $325 million, with adjusted EBITDA margin in the low-to-mid single digits.
Comscore's results show the challenges of restructuring and refocusing its business after selling a major division. The company is prioritizing cost savings and new product initiatives to stabilize and return to growth, but near-term financial performance remains under pressure.
