Yahoo
Web pioneer, now private-equity owned, running news, finance and sports sites plus a DSP.

What Yahoo does
Yahoo still runs some of the web's biggest destinations, including Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News, Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Mail. Apollo Global Management bought it from Verizon in 2021, with Verizon keeping a minority stake.
Its ad business sells inventory on its own sites and operates Yahoo DSP for buying across the open web and CTV. It shut down its SSP in 2024 to focus on the buy side, and in 2025 sold AOL to Bending Spoons.
How it makes money
Advertising on its own properties, fees from advertisers using Yahoo DSP, and subscriptions such as Yahoo Finance premium.
Where it meets invalid traffic
Filters traffic on its own sites and applies pre-bid quality controls in Yahoo DSP, including integrations with third-party verification.
