Amazon opens free product listings in its search via new Shop Direct portal
· 1h ago · Originally reported by PPC Land
Amazon launched a portal called Shop Direct that lets eligible stores list their products in Amazon search results at no cost. Merchants can join through feed management platforms such as Feedonomics, Salsify, CEDCommerce and VersaFeed, or via Amazon's own API. Amazon has not disclosed merchant counts or traffic figures for the program.
Why it matters
Free listings could pull more merchant inventory into Amazon's search results, changing how brands reach shoppers and pressuring rival retail media and comparison-shopping services.
Explain it like I’m new here
It's like a big mall letting smaller shops put their products on the main directory board for free instead of paying for a spot.
