IAB: Most Commerce Use Cases Can Operate Without Data Clean Rooms
· 2h ago · Originally reported by PPC Land
The IAB has identified that out of 14 common commerce-related advertising use cases, only five typically require the use of data clean rooms. The remaining nine use cases can often function without this privacy technology, according to the organization.
Why it matters
This highlights that while clean rooms are important for certain privacy-sensitive advertising tasks, many retail media and commerce strategies can proceed without them, potentially reducing complexity and costs for brands and retailers.
Explain it like I’m new here
It's like saying you only need a locked room for some secret meetings, but most talks can happen in the open.
