DOJ and Google clash over deadline to open AdX to Prebid in ad tech case
· 4h ago · Originally reported by PPC Land
Google and the Department of Justice have each filed competing proposed final judgments in the ad tech antitrust case. The DOJ wants Google's AdX exchange to support Prebid within six months, while Google is asking for twelve. The two sides also disagree over how much authority a technical monitor should have.
Why it matters
The remedy timeline decides how quickly publishers and advertisers get real alternatives to Google's auction tools, which could change costs and competition across programmatic advertising.
Explain it like I’m new here
It's like arguing over whether the town's only toll bridge has to open a cheaper crossing in six months or a full year.
