UK ICO sets November 20 deadline for AI agent builders to answer 30 questions
· 2h ago · Originally reported by PPC Land
The UK's Information Commissioner's Office has issued a 30-question consultation to builders and deployers of AI agents, due November 20. The questions cover session isolation, tamper-evident logging and six-part agent identifiers, with ad tech among the deployers in scope. The ICO is probing whether current protocols can produce adequate evidence of agent behavior.
Why it matters
AI agents are starting to interact with websites, ads and commerce flows, and regulators want proof of who is acting and why. If ad tech companies must add agent IDs and audit trails, it could reshape how automated traffic is identified and validated.
Explain it like I’m new here
It's like the government asking makers of new robots to fill out a detailed quiz proving the robots can be identified and monitored before they roam the mall.
