What a product feed is and why shopping ads, marketplaces and AI agents rely on it
· 2h ago · Originally reported by PPC Land
A product feed is a structured file that lists a retailer's products along with details such as prices, images and stock availability. Retailers send these feeds to shopping ads platforms, online marketplaces and, increasingly, AI shopping agents. Feed accuracy increasingly determines whether products appear correctly across these channels.
Why it matters
Product feeds are the raw material behind shopping ads and marketplace listings. If a feed is incomplete or outdated, products can be shown with wrong prices or vanish from search and shopping results.
Explain it like I’m new here
A product feed is like a shop's master inventory list that tells every website and AI shopping helper what you sell, at what price, and whether it's in stock.
